1. Supporting Women in Need

At Obdach Ester in Vienna, homeless women can find a safe and welcoming first point of contact — open 365 days a year. This vital service offers women in need access to a secure space, showers, a laundry room, computer workstations, a quiet room, and a kitchen for home cooking.
Dedicated social workers provide individual guidance, answering essential questions such as: How can I find a place to sleep? Where can I apply for support? Who can help me on the way to my own apartment? Where can I turn if I face health or emotional challenges?

Thanks to our generous sponsors, who donated over €2,000, we were able to continue supporting this important mission. Their contributions allowed us to provide essential hygiene products to the women at Obdach Ester. In addition, our caring community gathered clothing, coats, blankets, hats, and gloves to help them stay warm through the cold winter months. In April, with the help of our DOP friends, we were also delighted to donate three TV sets to bring a bit of comfort and connection to the women’s space.

2. Support Next Generation Leaders

We are proud to announce the Pallas Athena Vienna DOP Student Scholarship at Webster Vienna Private University!
For the very first time, this scholarship will support a talented young woman from Athens in pursuing her studies at Webster Vienna. Promoting education — especially the education of women — lies at the very heart of the Daughters of Penelope’s mission. Together, we are empowering the next generation of leaders.
In September, we hosted a Charity Panel Discussion on “The Financial Recovery of Greece and Lessons for Austria” to raise funds for this scholarship.
